Training & Education
Contemporary witness discussions are an integral part of historical, political and literary education in schools. As a result of the now advanced age, only a few Holocaust survivors are still able to attend schools. In order to preserve these valuable opportunities for future pupils, the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, in cooperation with the Leibniz Computing Centre of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, has produced the first German-language interactive 3D testimonies.
The Holocaust survivors Eva Umlauf and Abba Naor agreed to be recorded for learning with digital testimonies (LediZ), making their lives and experiences digitally and immersively ascertainable and tangible.
