New Realities is a joint podcast project of 1E9 and the XR HUB Bavaria in which we present new realities – i.e. projects, ideas, concepts and products in virtual, augmented and mixed reality. Or in short: in Extended Reality.
And because we are currently experiencing a completely different kind of “new reality” with the Corona Crisis, the first episodes of this podcast will focus on how we can use XR technologies to better deal with curfews and contact bans.
Episode 6: Virtual Reality makes a special theatre experience possible even in Corona times
Listening time: 23 minutes

The theatres and opera houses remain empty. All of them. It’s never happened before. Many houses have responded to the Corona shutdown and are streaming their performances online. But that alone was not enough for the Staatstheater in Augsburg, as artistic director André Bücker tells us. He thinks anyway that theatres should continue to work with VR and digital technologies in the future. His theatre is currently making very good experiences – so he has a good point also for the future.
