Training & Education
New Realities is a joint podcast project of 1E9 and the XR HUB Bavaria in which we present new realities – i.e. projects, ideas, concepts and products in virtual, augmented and mixed reality. Or in short: in Extended Reality.
And because we are currently experiencing a completely different kind of “new reality” with the Corona Crisis, the first episodes of this podcast will focus on how we can use XR technologies to better deal with curfews and contact bans.
You can listen and subscribe to the podcast at Podigee, Spotify, Deezer und bei Apple Music.
Here’s how you can create great VR events with a free tool.
Episode 7: How teachers are prepared for the use of VR and AR in class
Listening time: 33 minutes

The potential of virtual and augmented reality in schools is great, and this has been scientifically proven. But how do you get teachers to actually use XR? For example, to travel to historical sites with their classes, to illustrate complex material or to make teaching more playful and explorative? At the University of Würzburg, two chairs have joined forces to familiarize future teachers with XR and let them experiment with it themselves. Sebastian Oberdörfer, a scientist who helped to design and lead the seminars – and who is an advocate of XR and games in education anyway – reports on the promising results of this.
