The XR HUB Würzburg is located at the Chair for Human-Computer Interaction at the Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg.

According to a technology assessment for the German Bundestag, Würzburg was recently identified as one of the outstanding national and international locations for XR research [1].

The chair under the direction of Prof. Dr. Marc Erich Latoschik has been researching multimodal systems of Virtual and Augmented Reality for more than 25 years and is thus one of the oldest research groups with decades of integrated research expertise at the interface of XR and AI. The XR HUB Würzburg uses this competence to transfer scientific/technical know-how into application-oriented product developments, in particular also to make basic scientific findings directly accessible to industry and thus transport existing as well as newly emerging knowledge to companies. The XR HUB Würzburg is to serve in particular the main focus of research, industry linkage and knowledge communication.
